Persistence and Completion Information

As required by the New York State Education Department Higher Education Data System, NYU School of Engineering conducts a yearly cohort survival analysis. This study collects data for a group or cohort of first-time, full-time first year (never attended college before) students who enter the School. The data measures retention patterns and indicates the time needed to complete undergraduate degrees at the NYU School of Engineering. For a cohort study of first-time full-time students who entered the School of Engineering as first year students in Fall 2006, 41 percent received their Bachelor of Science degree within four years, 58 percent graduated in five years and 62 percent completed their degree within six years.
