EL 6753 UHF Propagation for Wireless Systems3 Credits The course examines UHF radio applications for cellular mobile radio telephones, wireless local area networks and personal communications networks, propagation and reflection of plane waves and spherical waves; antennas for transmitting and receiving; path loss and link budgets; Huygens’ principle; Fresnel zone and diffraction of plane and spherical waves; mathematical models of UHF propagation over a flat earth, around buildings in cities and within buildings; influence of propagation on capacity of cellular systems.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate status and undergraduate electromagnetic course. Note: Online version available.
