EG 1001 Engineering and Technology Forum1 Credits In this course, the notions of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship (i2e) are brought to the forefront of students’ educational experience in an effort to introduce undergraduates to elements of a research-intensive institution and encourage intellectual and scholarly interaction with their peers and faculty. This course includes presentations and discussions on emerging and exciting topics by leading engineers, scientists, inventors and entrepreneurs discussing case studies on innovations, inventions and entrepreneurship as well as relevant contemporary and emerging environmental-, economic-, global-, energy- and health-related topics. The course exposes students to an array of collegiate academic skills such as the elements of a research-intensive institute, information-technology resources and ethics in science and engineering, as well as discussions of student life–related topics and issues.
