                  MG-GY 7503 Electronic Business Management3 Credits  This course investigates the management implications of electronic business. Topics include: (1) accelerated new product development; (2) impact of technology on the value chain: the changing role of intermediaries; (3) electronic commerce: business models and strategies for survival of general lifestyle; (4) implications of “being wired”; and (5) business applications involving collaborative communication, computation and teamwork. The course material is dynamic and Internet-based, reflecting the nature of change in electronic commerce and the IT industry, and the potential implications of electronic business for managers. Students work on a project that requires following developments in the business and IT press, interviewing managers and product developers and simultaneously testing and discussing current developments in the e-commerce market space. Classes use the case method, and a high level of class participation is expected.
